PRETTI DOPE CO. TAKES COLORADO: A VISIT TO THE MARIJUANA MANSION

The Marijuana Mansion stands 3 stories high and 4200 square feet on the corner of Grant Street and 13th in Denver Colorado. Also known as MJ Mansion, the building functions as an event space, hosting some of the hottest industry events and parties in Denver. The mansion was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The rooms captured a theme with artwork and furniture curating a different vibe in each of the rooms.

Marijuana Mansion has such a rich history. The home was built in 1889 for the Creswell Family by renowned Denver architect, John Huddart. It’s design merged the essence of Queen Anne and the Romanesque Revival era. It’s owner, Joseph Creswell, was a wealthy Denver businessman and president of the Colorado Marble and Mining Company as well as other prominent positions in Denver. He had a keen interest in unique tactile and building materials which you can see with the design of the home. John Huddart’s buildings were known for the quality. In 1977, the mansion was inducted into the National Register of Historic Properties meaning it is on the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation.

My husband and I woke up Tuesday morning super excited because it was our first official 4/20 together. We were fortunate enough to snag ourselves a tour at MJ Mansion, thanks to Ashley! You’re AWESOME and we truly enjoyed our time! The Marijuana Mansion offers a kaleidoscopic experience to say the least. Each room embodies a cannabis theme with artwork and furniture curating a different vibe or an era in history in each room. Absolutely perfect for pictures! MJ Mansion also housed the law office of Vicente Sederberg, where the world’s first successful recreational marijuana bill was written – Amendment 64. MJ Mansion is also headquarters for the Marijuana Policy Project which was responsible for creating the legalization laws for Colorado in 2012.

Due to Covid-19, tours are by appointment only. After your tour, don’t forget to visit its neighboring dispensary, Green Dragon. Check out video and pics from our visit.
