PRETTI DOPE CO. TAKES COLORADO: A VISIT TO SIMPLY PURE DISPENSARY

On the corner of 32nd and Lamar sits the first black owned, veteran owned dispensary in Denver Colorado, Simply Pure. When we (the hubs and I) booked our trip for 4/20, I knew I’d want to support Black-owned dispensaries. Simply Pure also being woman-owned was so inspiring to me, especially since I’m new to the industry. A few days before the trip, I decided I’d send an email to the store in hopes that maybe I could meet the stores owners, Wanda James and Scott Durrah. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able make contact this time but next time, I will plan much better in hopes of meeting them in person.

My visit to Simply Pure was great. Actually, it was the best experience at any dispensary I had in Denver. You can tell they really value their customers and the service they provide. Upon arrival, we went through all the normal preliminary steps. We had our IDs checked and were asked to wait in the lobby until our turn. Behind the counter was Moses, a manager, to whom I introduced myself to. I let him know that I was from Houston and I recently started a cannabis blog. That’s when he grabbed a business card and came out to meet me. We chatted a bit about the status of cannabis reform in Texas, plans for my blog and about how excited I was to be at their renowned dispensary. Moses walked us into the show room where we met budologist, Trevor, who was polite and best of all, patient. He took the time to answer my questions without seeming rushed or annoyed, which I appreciated that. I also appreciated that the staff put safety at the forefront by wearing gloves and a masks. Trevor showed us flower under a magnifying glass he pointed out and explained certain traits of each bud. Super impressive and educational.

I bought a few strains of flower such as Rainbow Cookies (hybrid), Wedding Cake (indica) and Monkey Spunk. Their weed is unmatched. Their flower is beautiful and potent, unlike anything you’d find in Texas. I could literally crush the buds with my finger tips without the use of a grinder. The smoke was clean, relaxing and I didn’t have a headache afterward. Simply Pure is also known for their edibles so I bought a box of the WYLD Strawberry 20:1 CBD:THC gummies and they were so good and not too strong. I mostly at night to get that calm, serene vibe before bed.

My experience at Simply Pure was #PRETTIDOPE ! I can’t wait to go back to try new products and hopefully meet Wanda and Scott to thank them for being trailblazers in the cannabis industry.
